Date and Time: Tuesday, 31 May 2022 from 1.00 p.m. – 3.00 p.m. (Bangkok time UTC+7)

Venue: Virtual meeting (Zoom platform)

After years of debate, Europe’s new patent regime is set to go live.

In the second half of this year, a new patent right known as the Unitary Patent (UP) and a patent enforcement system known as the Unified Patent Court (UPC) will come into effect across a majority of the EU member states. The UP and UPC will have a significant impact on patent protection, enforcement, and revocation across most of the EU member countries.

If you are currently prosecuting European patent applications, dealing with European patent disputes, or wish to file new European patent applications, now is a great opportunity to learn about the new UP versus traditional European patents, as well as how the new UPC can help you litigate UP and some traditional European patents.

In this webinar, we are honored to have two experts from European law firms share their knowledge of these new systems. The following topics will be discussed:
1. Dr. Urs Ferber, Senior Associate at Mewburn Ellis will discuss traditional EP patents and introduce UPs, including their benefits and drawbacks.
2. Dr. Christof Karl, Partner at Bardehle Pagenberg, will share his expertise on the UPC and the opt-out during the transition phase, as well as the benefits and drawbacks of the UPC.

For additional details on the program schedule, please see the attached agenda.

Come and join the Licensing Executives Society – Thailand for its webinar and hear our distinguished speakers. This is a great opportunity to interact with Thailand’s IP commercialization community.
